Half-way on \u00d6l\u00f6kyn \u00c4hk\u00e4sy (\u00d6lkynper\u00e4), there is a shelter and a campfire spot, if you\u2019d like to cook sausages, for example.<\/p>\n<p>Walking about 3.5 km in the other direction, you can reach the rock paintings at Hossa V\u00e4rikallio, which are also worth seeing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Rock paintings in Finland<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>About 60 different rock paintings have been found in Finland.<\/li>\n<li>These rock paintings are usually situated near water.<\/li>\n<li>Most commonly, they depict people, boats and deer or elk.<\/li>\n<li>Rock paintings have been painted with red ochre, generally using blood as a binder.<\/li>\n<li>The oldest rock paintings have been dated as 5500 years old.<\/li>\n<li>The purpose of the rock paintings is not completely clear.
